Lawrence T. Simmons, 76, of Route 2, died Saturday, September 15, at his residence.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Goddard Funeral Home in Reynolds, Burial was in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Sydney Jones and Tracy DeFoor officiated.
A native of Macon County, Mr. Simmons was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was the former owner of L. T. Simmons General Merchandise Store in Macon County. He was a retired farmer and a World War II Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Leverett Simmons of Oglethorpe; and three sisters, Lucille S. Lipford of Franklin, Laura S. Clonts of Rocky Mounty, N.C. and Leila S. Crawford of Cullman, Ala.
