Lemerle (Huey) Eddy

PELICAN, La.

Lemerle (Huey) Eddy, 73, of Pelican, La., formerly of Swaledale, Iowa, died Wednesday (March 20, 1996) at her daughter's home in Pelican.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Swaledale, with a fellowship at the Swaledale Town Hall following.

Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, La., is in charge of the arrangements.

Her children requested that memorials be made to the Swaledale Public Library in Lemerle's honor.

Lemerle was born May 21, 1922, in Mansfield, La., to parents, Ruby (Lord) and Lee Huey. She attended school in Mansfield, La., and then college in Chilicothe, Mo., where she met and married Glenn B. Eddy, her husband of 54 years. Lemerle and Glenn made their home in Swaledale where they raised their children and ran the family based business.

Lemerle was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Swaledale, Eastern Star, and an avid supporter of her hometown library.

Survivors include her son, Michael Eddy of Clear Lake; daughter, Mardee Malwitz of Pelican, La.; daughter, Kathleen Bohl of St. Paul, Minn.; son, Dann Eddy of Destin, Fla.; and daughter, Ruby McBride of Terrell, Texas.

Lemerle has four grandchildren, Chris Cowan of Pelican, La.; Gretchen West of Minneapolis, Minn.; Rebecca Eddy of Clear Lake; and Zac Bohl of St. Paul, Minn.

She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Good of Mansfield, La.; and Eleanor Readdick of Brunswick, Ga.; and a brother, Bobby Thornton of Mansfield, La.

Lemerle was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn B. Eddy; her parents; her brothers, Lee Huey and Laurie Thornton; and her sister, Kathleen Jones.
