Father Of Local Residents Dies; Services Slated

The father of three Twin Cities residents, Lee A. McPherson, 78, of Columbia, died late Friday night in a Columbia hospital after an illness of one day.

Mr. McPherson was the father of Crosby McPherson and Elige McPherson, both of Monroe, and Mrs. Minnie Bell Martin of West Monroe.

Funeral services will be held in the Columbia Church of God at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

In addition to the two sons and one daughter of the Twin Cities, Mr. McPherson, a retired planter and former Columbia resident, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lee McPherson, Columbia; another son, Herman McPherson, Jena; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Summerall, Jackson, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
