Lehman Russell Sullivan
July 16, 1935 - December 9, 2017

Lehman Russell Sullivan went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the age of 82, with his loving wife of 63 years, Jeanette Austin Sullivan and family by his side. He was the cherished father of two daughters, Ginnie Noel and husband Skip Prairieville LA and Danita Sullivan and Joby Broussard New Orleans LA and one son, David and wife Elizabeth College Station TX. Papa was so loved by his grandchildren Scott & Courtney Noel Eads TN Grace Noel Bartlett TN Brice & Alix Noel Baton Rouge LA and William and Jonathan Sullivan College Station TX. Great grandchildren are Anna & Lyla Noel, Parker Russell, and Marshall Noel.

Russell is survived by his sisters Linda Fay Williams and Sandra (Ernest) Little of Winnfield, Dianne (Jim) Gibson Natchitoches LA and his brothers, Danny (Mary Ann) Sullivan Jonesboro, LA, Glenn (Jackie) Sullivan South Augusta SC, Mike (Terry) Sullivan Ruston, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lehman and Essie Sullivan Winnfield, his wife's parents Jessie and Eunice Austin Winnfield, his infant sister Mary Louise, his brother James Earl Sullivan, granddaughter Elizabeth Noel, and brother in law, Donnie Williams.

Russell, Mr. Sullivan, touched the lives of countless young men and women with his chosen path in life as an educator. He taught Vocational Agriculture and was FFA advisor at Dodson, and Winnfield Senior High School, a principal at Atlanta School, and retired as Vocational Agriculture Area Supervisor for Louisiana State Department of Agriculture Education. After retirement, he realized a lifelong dream as a dirt farmer with his brothers James Earl & Glenn and served as Executive Secretary for Louisiana Pork Producers for 10 years. Through all of these years he loved his participation in the livestock shows throughout Louisiana especially the Louisiana State Fair Shreveport, LA and Louisiana Livestock Show in Baton Rouge.

He was a lifelong resident of Winnfield, and was proud to serve 21 years in the Louisiana National Guard, retired Staff Sergeant E6. He served the Winn Parish Police Jury for 5 years.

Brother Russell rejoiced in his love of the Lord and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Corinth Baptist Church, Winnfield, which was the joy of his late years. He was a member of Gideon International, Winn Camp.

Serving as pallbearers are Scott, Brice, and Skip Noel, William and Jonathan Sullivan, and Joby Broussard.

Visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield, LA from 5pm to 8 pm Monday, December 11, 2017. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11 am at Corinth Baptist Church, Winnfield, LA. Services will be officiated by the Reverends Billy Prince, Donny Wise, and Craig James.
