Lela Jones Barrett

Lela Jones Barrett, 85, of McComb, died of cardiac arrest Dec.17, 1999, at her home.

Visitation is today at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb from 9 a.m. until services in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. The Rev. Rick Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

She was born June 22, 1914, in McComb. She was the daughter of Charles Woodrow Jones and Lela Johnson Jones.

Mrs. Barrett was a member of East McComb Baptist Church and the Keenagers. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Clayton Barrett; and four brothers, Lloyd, C.W., Ernest and Alton Jones.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles R. and Katie Barrett of McComb and James Larry and Dee Ann Barrett of the Friendship community; two sisters, Helen Boren of Smyrna, Tenn., and Lanelle Williams of the Felders Campground community; six grandchildren, Donna, David, Stacey, Bryan and Clay Barrett and Jennifer Ann Martin; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
