Seagoville Native Dies At Her Home

Mrs. Lena Ard Hawthorne, 65, native and lifetime resident of Dallas County, died Wednesday at her home in Seagoville.

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Ard, early Dallas County residents, Mrs. Hawthorne was born in Seagoville and had spent her entire life there.

She is survived by three sons, Reagan Hawthorne and Raymond Hawthorne, both of Seagoville, and Harry E. Hawthorne, United States Army; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Stewart, Seagoville; three brothers, J. L. Ard, A. S. Ard, both of Seagoville, and Floyd Ard, Dallas; three grandchilden.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Seagoville Baptist Church, with the Rev. W. H. Wynn, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church, and the Rev. W. H. Travis officiating. Burial will be at Seagoville.

Pallbearers will be Wilbur Ard, Robert Ard, Floyd Ard Jr., Ben Fly, Lloyd Wilkins and E. F. Hawthorne.
