Lena L. Barbour Dies At Age 80

Mrs. Lena Lee Barbour of Route 1, Smithfield died Monday in Guardian Care Nursing Home in Goldsboro following a long illness.

Mrs. Barbour, who was 80 years of age, was born in Sampson County. She was a daughter of the late Luther and Susie Jones Lee.

The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Minshew Funeral Home on Highway 301 north of Four Oaks. The Rev. William White and the Rev. Wade Massengill will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church near Four Oaks.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 o'clock until 9 o'clock tonight (Tuesday).

Mrs. Barbour is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Leola Neighbors of Dunn, Mrs. Beulah Creech of Four Oaks, Mrs. Virginia (Polly) Byrd of Smithfield, Mrs. Julia Barnes of Four Oaks, and Mrs. Betty Kuebler of Smithfield; four sons, Willis Earl and Tom Barbour of Smithfield, Robert Barbour of Rapid City, S. D., and Paul Barbour of Raleigh; one sister, Mrs. Josie Lenneave of Raleigh; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
