Lena Patteson McCarty

Pat McCarty died December 11, 2004 in Oklahoma City. Born July 10, 1912 in Kentucky, Pat came to Oklahoma in 1951 with her husband Ike and their 4 sons. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother as well as a gracious lady who enjoyed being with her friends. She was active in many organizations all built around her love for her family such as the May Avenue Methodist Church, various PTA groups and neighborhood organizations through which she developed many lifelong friendships.

Pat was always an athletic woman who won all state honors in basketball and continued to be active with swimming and walking up until the end of her long full life. She enjoyed studying history, playing bridge with her friends and staying active in community affairs and neighborhood events. She enjoyed music and recently had been singing with her new friends at Bellevue Health Center.

Traveling with Ike was one of the delights of her life. They traveled extensively and always returned with wonderful stories of the adventures they had and new friends in their lives.

Pat was preceded in passing by her husband I. H. (Ike) McCarty, her son John McCarty and is survived by her sons Dan McCarty of Aspen, CO, Jim McCarty and his wife Barbara of Lake Belton, TX , Mike McCarty and his wife Nancy of Little Rock, AR granddaughters Michele McCarty, Kelli McCarty, Kyli Tidwell, grandsons Ryan McCarty and Justin McCarty as well as great grandchildren and many other loving family members.

Services for Pat will be held later this week at the family chapel in Mississippi.
