Mrs. Sullivan, 97, Succumbs

Mrs. Lena D. Sullivan, 97, of Alexandria died Friday in a Florida hospital after a short illness. She was the widow of W. J. Sullivan.

A native of Woodberry, Ark., Mrs. Sullivan moved to Alexandria in 1912 and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served in the choir for almost 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lois Sullivan Cookston of Alexandria; a grandson, Roy P. Cookston of Coral Gables, Fla.; three great-grandchildren and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Alexandria, with Rev. John G. Alley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.
