Lenard Fay Peters
Lenard Fay Peters died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.
Born in Crowville, La., Mr. Peters had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1986. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired as a fire chief from the Shreveport Fire Department in Shreveport, La. He served as a deacon and a member of the Grand Adventures Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Oliver Peters of Vicksburg; a son, Robert E. Peters of Vicksburg; a daughter, Sandra Kelly Peters of Vicksburg; two sisters, Floye Harbour of Baker, La., and Winnie Crampton of Meridian; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall and Dr. Matt Buckles officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Fred Baldwin, David Baldwin, Lee Robinson, Calvin Pugh, Dennis Markle and Tom Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and the Grand Adventures Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
