Louis Ford
Funeral services for Louis Ford, 65, of Columbia, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Revs. Lavelle Crain and Michael Green officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Ford died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Ford was born and reared in Caldwell Parish, living most of his time in the Mt. Pleasant community, about seven miles west of Columbia. He was a carpenter by trade.
He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Caldwell Legion Post 164, serving as commander at one time. His father was the late Weedon T. Ford, prominent citizen here for years.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Carrie Ford of Columbia; a brother, W. T. Ford Jr., of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Fisher of Columbia, Mrs. Evelyn Mayfield of Junction City, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were John Ford, Tommie Ford, Arnold Fisher, Leo Fisher, Harold Otwell and Quinton May.
