L. M. GRISHAM OF ISSAQUENA DIES

Heart Attack Fatal to Planter While Driving Car

Leon McGill Grisham, 45 years old, of Grace, highly respected Issaquena county planter, died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock while driving his automobile from the home of a neighbor to his own home nearby.

Grisham had visited H. P. Kirkland, and friends nearby saw his car abruptly run to the side of the road. They rushed to his aid and found him in a dying condition. He passed away before medical aid could be summoned. Mr. Grisham had been in a Vicksburg hospital for several weeks until a short time ago when he was dismissed and was apparently in good health when stricken.

Born at Selma, Miss., the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Grisham [sic W. D. Grisham], he had lived in the Selma community until 13 years ago when he moved to Issaquena county where he was one of the county's most successful planters. His wife, Louise Smith Grisham, passed away three years ago.

He leaves two sons, Leon, jr., sixteen, and William Harrison, 11 years old. Three sisters, Mrs. F. C. Sanford, Fort Worth, Texas; Miss Genevieve Grisham, St. Joseph, La., and Mrs. J. K. Walton, Mule Shue, Texas, also survive.

Funeral services in charge of Stovall Funeral Home of Leland will be held at Church Hill, near Natchez, this afternoon at 1 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Kheunley, Presbyterian pastor of Natchez. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

The pallbearers are H. P. Kirkland, Louis Kenofsky, L. T. Ware, F. C. Wilkes, S. F. Alford, jr., and Bob Smith, all of Grace; Rex Morphis, Greenville, and Jack Baggett, Rolling Fork.
