ALTUS -- Leonard A. Thornton, 81, of Altus died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in Ozark. He was retired from Westark Community College, a Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Altus.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; two daughters, Mary Thornton of Fayetteville and Catherine Farris of Tamasse, S.C.; three sons, Stephen Davies of Coral Springs, Fla., Mark Davies of Fort Smith and John Davies of Booneville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Davies, John Davies, Caleb Carter, Coy Rush Jr., Ed Tullis and Jack Leding.
