Beauford Hammons

GULFPORT, Miss. -- Beauford Hammons, formerly of Alexandria, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday in Gulfport, Miss.
Hammons, 35, was a refrigeration engineer at Keesler Field in Biloxi. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hammons of Alexandria.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Hammons, one daughter, Janice Hammons, one son, Allen Hammons, and one step-son Bobby Hammons, all of Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the Rehman Funeral Home in Gulfport.

LEONARD B. HAMMONS
Leonard Beauford Hammons, 35, died at 1:15 a.m. today at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He had been a resident of Route 1, Box 177, Long Beach, since 1939.
A refrigeration and air-conditioning serviceman at Keesler AFB, Mr. Hammons was born in Alexandria, La., Aug. 31, 1925. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Navy in submarine service. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lou Alice McCardle Hammons, Long Beach; two children, Janice and Allan Hammons, Long Beach; a stepson, Bobby Kennedy, Long Beach; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hammons, Gulfport; and grandmother, Mrs. Alice Slocum of Gulfport.
The body will be at the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport at 10 a.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at Riemann Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Howard Lips, pastor of Burton Memorial Methodist Church, and the Rev. W. F. Rogers, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery.
