Mr. L. C. Pratt Dead

Mr. L. C. Pratt, of River Bend, one of the oldest residents of the county, died at his home on Saturday at the advanced age of 89 years. He was born at River Bend on the same place that he spent so many of his useful years and where he raised a large family.

He was a Confederate soldier and a leader of the people among whom he lived.

He was a member of the Baptist church, and was buried on Sunday at Shoults [sic Schultz] Creek, the funeral being conducted by Rev. Henderson of the Blocton Baptist church. The large number of people that were present to pay their last respects to his memory attested the esteem in which he was held by the people among whom he had spent so many years.

He leaves a wife and the following children: Judge W. L. Pratt of Centreville, W. C. Pratt, River Bend; Calloway Pratt, of Jacksonville; Mrs. W. A. Harvey, of West Blocton; Mrs. F. F. F. Crowe, of Montevallo; Mrs. T. O. Smith, Wilsonville; Mrs. J. P. Logan, Wilton, and Mrs. W. A. Green of Blocton.
