Leonard Sanders Dies at Sugartown, Rites Tomorrow

OAKDALE, La. (Spl.) -- Funeral services for Leonard Sanders, 58, of Sugartown, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Palestine Pentecostal church at Grant, with the Rev. Virgil Reeves of Oakdale officiating.

Burial will be in the Palestine cemetery under direction of the Ardoin funeral home.

Mr. Sanders died Saturday afternoon in a DeRidder hospital, following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vercie Sanders of Sugartown; two sons, Johnny of Lake Charles and Buford of Sugartown; eight daughters, Mrs. Joyce Embrey and Mrs. Jean Nixon of DeRidder, Mrs. Ivy Neal Keedle of Santa Clara, Calif., Mrs. Bonnie V. Kolb of Lake Charles, Mrs. Bobby Chaffin of Pine Prairie, Miss Shirley Ann Sanders, Miss Bona Joy Sanders and Miss Lavonne Sanders, all of Sugartown; one brother, Leon Sanders of Sulphur; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ellender and Mrs. Ada Catelege [sic Catlege], both of Sulphur; and 12 grandchildren.
