Leota Fay Owens ``Mitzi'' Foreman
A resident of Baker and a retired bookkeeper with Billeann's Florist, she passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 77 and a native of Centreville, Miss.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oaklawn Cemetery, Centreville.
Survived by her husband, James V. Foreman, of Baker; three sons, James D. Foreman and wife Sherry Foreman, of Baker, Michael R. Foreman and wife Judy, Wicker Foreman, of Zachary, and Darren Foreman and fiancée Barbara Rimes, of Baker; two sisters, Gloria Baggett, of Baker, and Janice Stewart, of Albany; brother, David Dewitt Owens Jr., of Centreville; eight grandchildren, Melissa Eisworth, David Foreman, Staff Sgt. Daniel Foreman, Jessica Foreman, Jennifer Foreman, Geoffrey Scott Ilgenfritz Foreman, Samantha Jones, and Dylan Paul McCray; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her father, David Dewitt Owens Sr.; mother, Leota Bell Hughes Owens; brother, Stanley Eugene Owens; and infant daughter, Sharon Dianne Foreman. Pallbearers will be David Foreman, Pat Baggett, Asher Eisworth, Clay Walker, Michael Hawk and Gray Pettit.
Honorary pallbearers are Stan Owens, Dale Owens, Geoffrey Ilgenfritz Foreman, and David ``Hippie'' France.
Mitzi was a loving wife, mother and caregiver. She was a licensed Ham operator since 1963. Her call letters were WA5FYQ. She was an avid reader and animal lover.
