Funeral Services for LESTER SHIRAH, 55
Ideal, Aug. 23. -- Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church in Ideal Sunday for Lester Shirah, 55, well known citizen, whose death Saturday afternoon followed a stroke of paralysis which he suffered earlier in the day. The services were conducted by the Rev. E.L. Jenkins and the body was carried to Montezuma for interment in Felton's Cemetery. He was a life-long resident of Macon County and had been an influential citizen in the Ideal community for many years.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Susie Taunton; a daughter, Mrs. Alex Cole of Montezuma; a brother, Walter Shirah of Verdenburg, Ala. and four sisters, Mrs. W.A. Sutton and Mrs. Lona Hand of Ideal, Mrs. Albert Hill of Oglethorpe and Mrs. Alexa Allman of Americus.
Active pallbearers were: Graysden Allmon, Imnon Allmon, Mendel Allmon, Bernard Hand, Hilburn Brooks and Archie Hill. Honorary pallbearers were: Mr. Love Felton, Mr. T.A. Tarrer, Mr. R.E. Fouche, Dr. Lightner, Mr. Johnson, Mr. H.R. Park and Mr. J.T. Felder.
