LESTER T. PERRY
Lester Talmadge Perry, 79, of Braxton, formerly of Laurel, died May 31 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a long illness.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson, with burial in Zion Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Wilbur Irvin and Dr. Fuller B. Saunders officiated.
He was a native of Jasper County and a Abptist [sic Baptist].
He is survived by his widow, Bertie Perry of Braxton; sons, Lester T. Perry Jr. of Houston, Texas, James W. Perry of Dallas, Texas, and Mike Perry of Laurel; daughters, Alva Rita Reddock of Laurel, Ida Faye Miller of Garrisburg, Va., and Mary Hardy of Pearl; a stepdaughter, Georgia Dean Todd of Houston, Texas; sisters, Carrie Lee Watkins of Laurel and Katharine Steele of Sos; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
