Funeral services for Leta Litton Smitherman, 93, of Alexander City will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Alexander City. Rev. Dr. Gerald Hallmark will officiate. Burial will follow at Randolph Baptist Cemetery in Bibb County. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7.p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004.
Mrs. Smitherman died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Chapman's Healthcare. She was born April 11, 1911, in Bibb County to Cephus and Sara McMillan Litton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alexander City and worked for Pepperell Manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed quilting with her friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Jacquelin Bice and her husband Winston of Eclectic; two grandchildren, Tim Bice and his wife Judy of Richmond, Va. and Teresa Bice Gillem and her husband Jennings of Poquoson, Va.,; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eula Lee Rominger of Tuscaloosa and Annie Lo Sarver of Greenwood, In.
He [sic] (She) was preceded in death by her husband Norman H. Smitherman, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
