Lewis R Kleinecke, Jr.
Lewis R. ‘L.R.’ Kleinecke, Jr. 87, of Victoria, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Twin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 10, 1923 in DeWitt County to yhe late Lewis R. Kleinecke, Sr. and Beulah S. Kleinecke. He was a retired route salesman and former owner of a local candy distribution service. He was known to many of his customers as ‘Lewis’ or ‘The Candyman’. He was a member of the Blyth Road Church of Christ in Victoria and was a loving husband and father.
From 1945 to 1946, he served as a member of the US Army of Occupation in Korea. In 1947, he married his wife, Lillie F. Kleinecke in Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Lewis Kleinecke of Victoria and James William Kleinecke of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 63 years, Lillie F. Kleinecke.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2010 at Hillside Cemetery with Mr. Will McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blyth Road Church of Christ or Hospice of South Texas.
