Lewisa R. Cooper
Lewisa Jeanette Rimes Cooper, 65, Pike County native and Baton Rouge, La. resident, died Monday in Magnolia.
Visitation will be until 10 tonight and will continue 8-9:15 a.m. Friday in Hartman Funeral Home of McComb. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow in Bluff Springs Baptist Church of Magnolia with the Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Progress Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born Oct. 8, 1918, the daughter of John and Annie Strickland Rimes. She was a retired real estate agent, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Oak Crest Baptist Church of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jeanett and Annotone Cooper, and a brother Davis Rimes.
Survivors include one son Jerry Lewis Cooper of Baton Rouge; one daughter Janet K. Munson of Baton Rouge; six brothers, Alfred M. Rimes of Summit, C.L., James W., Dwight, Bobby O'Neal and John Rimes of Magnolia; eight sisters, Mrs. Clara Hughes and Mrs. Dulcie Hughes of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Virginia Wilson and Mrs. Charlene Bond of Magnolia, Mrs. Murial Grice of Kentwood, La., Mrs. Willie Dean McDonald of Louisville, Mrs. Marie Edmondson of Oak Grove, La., Mrs. Elmer Simmons of Vancouver, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
