A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 1997, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1923, in Gloster, Miss.
Visiting was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Survived by husband of 56 years, Robert H. ``Hal'' Whittington; a daughter, Kimberly W. Hall, Mobile,Ala.; a son, Elmer ``Gary'' Whittington, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Lazelle Boykin, Ferriday, Vassar Boykin, Zachary, Evelyn Havard, Baton Rouge, and Katherine Thornton, Gloster; a brother, William ``Billy'' Dawson, Jackson, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Robert L. ``Rusty,'' Damon Gary and Randall Gene Whittington, all of Baton Rouge.
Preceded in death by mother, Ruby W. Dawson; father, Luke Harper Dawson; and four brothers, Mann, Roger, Eugene and Wilmer Dawson.
Pallbearers will be Richard Earl Ash, Jerry Boykin, Scott Barnett, and grandsons, Robert L. ``Rusty,'' Damon Gary and Randall Gene Whittington.
