Mrs. Lida Merna
Mrs. Lida Merna, 69, of Peoria, formerly of 612 E. Grove, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
She was formerly employed at St. Francis Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Wright and Salmon Murtuary [sic Mortuary] in Peoria and at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. M. Haas officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Merna.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Mrs. Merna was born Oct. 29, 1899 in Ft. Worth, Tex., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Whittington, She was married to William Merna in June, 1925 in Bloomington. Mr. Merna was commercial manager for the Union Gas and Electric Company. They left Bloomington in the early 1940's.
Surviving are her husband; a son, William, Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Koehna, Pekin, and Mrs. Eleanor Menke, Peoria; a brother, John Whittington, Dallas, Texas.; three sisters, Mrs. John Marinchek; 1000 S. Linden, Normal; Mrs. Mabel Sherrill, 301 E. Grove; Mrs. Ethel Iungerich, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Church of Peoria.
