BRANDON -- Liddie Joiner, 95, a homemaker, died of heart failure Friday at Crossgates Manor.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Union Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Joiner was a Leake County native and a longtime resident of Rankin County. She was a member of Union Tabernacle Church. She was the widow of Sidney Albert Joiner. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and playing the piano.

“She was always humble,” her daughter Mildred Knight of Pearl said. She described her mother as “filled with God's spirit everyday, giving genuine love, tenderness, courage and enthusiasm for life.”

Other survivors include: sons, Marian Henry Joiner of Rayville, La., Sidney Albert Joiner Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, Bennie Noel Joiner of Pearl and Leslie Dale Joiner of Flowood; daughters, Berta Fay Tatum of Carthage, Nannie Jewel Womack and Erma Doris Ward, both of Pearl, and Bessie Jo Hodge of Utica; 56 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
