Lillian Buckelew Feavel
BENTON, LA -- Lillian Buckelew Feavel went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Willis-Knighton Bossier after a sudden illness. She was born November 10, 1913 in Jena, LA. Lillian lived her life to the fullest with the great health God gave her. She was working in her yard Sunday afternoon. Her family is grateful for the life she lived and she will be dearly missed. No services are planned.
Lillian will be remembered for opening her home to nine girls who were troubled teens. She gave love, advice and attention for over 15 years to these young ladies, while also managing a dairy farm and being mother to her two sons. Lillian had very little free time for herself, but her dedication to others was more important. Lillian took pride in the fact that she had reared a doctor, lawyer and an Indian Chief--one of her girls is a native American Indian and became a leader in her tribe.
Her husband, Norman William Feavel, preceded Lillian in death. Survivors are her sons, Dr. Michael Feavel and wife, Kay of Benton, LA and Patrick Feavel of Monterey, CA; and grandson, Justin Feavel of Monterey, CA.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, P.O. Box 52442, Shreveport, LA 71135.
