Lillian Mauldin

BAKER, La. -- Services for Lillian C. Wheat Mauldin, 82, a long time resident of Baker, La., who went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, July 30, 2010, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Rocky Bezet officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens under the direction of Baker Funeral Home in Baker in Baker, La.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mauldin was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Mississippi, the daughter of Clayton and Myrtis Causey.

In her elderly years, she enjoyed working at Sam's Wholesale in the demo department. Lillian was a blessing and an inspiration to everyone she met. She was a kind, loving, caring and selfless wife, mother and grandmother who always had an invaluable piece of wisdom to pass on.

``Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.'' I Corinthians 13: 4-6. Her life always reflected the love of God through her willingness to serve others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ford R. Wheat; and one son, Kenneth W. Wheat.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbur E. Mauldin; one son, Larry Wheat and wife, Nicole; one daughter, Sandra Spiess and husband, David; two brothers, C.H. Causey and wife, Helen, and Earl Causey and wife, Peggy; one sister, Rheva Hancock and husband, Carl; five stepdaughters, Carolyn Causey, Barbara Stein, Dianne Butler, Roxie Brown and Patricia Boyd; three stepsons, Henry Mauldin, Roger Seyfarth and Ray Seyfarth; one step-daughter-in-law, Evelyn Seyfarth; six grandchildren, Dalton and Madeline Wheat, Matthew Bambarger and wife, Elizabeth, Brittany Lavergne and husband, Phillip, Dustin and Hannah Spiess; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Porter Lavergne; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
