Mrs. Lillian (Crain) Monroe, age 86, of Grayson, LA, died Friday, September 17, 2004 at her residence in Grayson, LA. She was a member of Grayson Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Oscar Crain and the late Cora (Beavers) Crain. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Robert Monroe, Sr. and by her brother Harl Crain, and by her sister Mrs. Ruby Thoman.

She is survived by her one son, Mr. John Robert Monroe, Jr. of Grayson, LA; two sister[s]: Mrs. Ruth (Crain) Hudnall of Grayson, LA, Mrs. Nelma (Crain) Perkins of Winnsboro, LA; sister-in-law: Loried Crain of Grayson, LA; and by a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Black, Artis Thompson, Tommy Compton, Elvis Pahillips, Sidney McLemore, Mike Crain, Keith Allbritton, Mike Hale, Jim Mohler, J.B. Thoman and Scott Perkins.

Arrangements are being handled by Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Highway 165, Columbia, LA, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, September 18, 2004.

Funeral service will be at Grayson Baptist Church, Grayson 2:00 PM Sunday, September 19, 2004, Rev. Jay Morgan officiating. Interment will be at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA.

Visitation for Sunday will be from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home and 1:00 PM until time of service at the church.
