FERRIDAY -- Services for Lillie Marie Whittington, 78, of Ferriday, who died Monday, May 22, 2006, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whittington was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Fort Necessity, La., the daughter of Billy and Frances Idell Byrnes. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Ferriday.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Whittington; a brother, Lee T. Byrnes and an infant son, James Whittington.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannette Tanner of Dallas, Texas and Lynette W. Baker of Ferriday; three sons, Donald Whittington, Ronald Whittington and Pete Whittington all of Ferriday; three brothers, W.E. ``Buddy'' Byrnes of Clayton, La., Vernon Byrnes of Natchez and George Byrnes of Ferriday; a sister, Gloria Nell Polk of Winnsboro, La.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Whittington, Glen Whittington, Andy Briggs, Daryle Whittington, Bo Whittington, Jim Whittington, Bubba Bennett, Boggie Bennett, Heath Whittington and Blaine Brigg.
