She attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and graduated from Texas A&M in Commerce where she studied English. Before retiring, due to ill health, she served as administrative assistant to Vice President Dr. James Maxwell at Southwestern Christian College for many years and also edited their school communiqué. In addition, Mrs. Craig tutored students in New Testament Greek. A talented writer, she began composing children's stories for her grandchildren Sara and Ryan when they were young and was often asked to read them at their schools. Many relatives and friends also benefited from her creative knitting talents.
A faithful member of the church of Christ, Mrs. Craig served in many areas of the church including teaching Bible class, preparing meals, prayer warriors and helping with research for Ladies Bible classes until ill health forced her to reduce these activities. She enjoyed studying specific topics in the Bible and could read New Testament Greek. At church she was known to many for her encouraging words. Students at Southwestern Christian College often enjoyed her hospitality and “adoption”. She was especially fond of preacher students and became known as “Mom” to many. One of these, Kennedy Mukuka from Zambia, stated that she was a wonderful mother and grandmother and would be sorely missed. Mrs. Craig also loved cooking and was known for her rolls, chocolate pies and other foods.
A great wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda Wallace Craig leaves a memorable legacy for her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Share Center or to Southwestern Christian College.
