Mrs. Linda Burns
Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Kay Moncus Burns, 29, of Avery, Tex., will be held at 3 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Vivian.
Red River County Justice of the Peace W. M. McDonough of Clarksville, Tex., said Mrs. Burns died of a gunshot wound to the head. He said she was found dead in a bed at a mobile home in Avery Sunday. He said a .38-caliber pistol was found at her side.
Officiating in services will be the Rev. Milam McDonald, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church of Vivian.
Mrs. Burns was a native of Magnolia, Ark., and was a housewife. Burial will be in the Vivian Cemetery.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vivian and was a member of the Red River Riders Club of Vivian.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Burns of Avery; her father, Fred Moncus of Stamps, Ark.; her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Texarkana, Tex., and a son, Eric Shane Burns and a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Burns, both of Avery.
McGuire Funeral Home of Vivian is directing funeral arrangements.
