Lisa Dale Guy
Lisa D. Guy, 41, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, following a sudden illness. Born in Baytown on November 20, 1967, she attended Goose Creek schools, graduating from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1986, where she was a twirler. Lisa earned her accounting degree from the University of Texas and was a certified public accountant. She served GCCISD as their business manager and later became an auditor for Pasadena ISD, was involved with Region IV, and taught accounting at Lee College. She was also a longtime, active member of Texas Association of School Business Officials. Lisa loved the Lord and her church family, and was an active member of First Baptist Church. She also held positions on the board of directors of the YMCA, and was heavily involved in PTSO and numerous other committees at Stephen F. Austin Elementary and Cedar Bayou Junior School, where her two oldest daughters attend. Lisa was also a charter member of the Beta Lambda Kappa chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. But the center of her universe was her family, especially her husband and children, to whom she devoted her life.
Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Alma Jeannette and Jeff Ward, and Clotile Wilkerson. Her loving family includes her husband, Gary; her three precious daughters, Allie, Katie, and Zoe; her parents, Dennis and Jeannette Wilkerson, of Anahuac; grandfather, Glyn Wilkerson and wife, Helen; parents-in-law, Marvin and Carol Guy, of Baytown; brother in-law Kevin Guy and wife, Jana; nephews, Oliver and Willie Guy; and many special friends and associates too numerous to mention.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A celebration of Lisa's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2009, at First Baptist Church, 505 Rollingbrook, with Pastor Bill Yowell and Mark Stafford, officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Lisa epitomized life, love and friendship, and in that spirit has left the greatest legacy of all by becoming a tissue donor to benefit others in need.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Rd., Baytown 77521, 281.839.0700.
