Lizzie F. Freeman
Lizzie F. Freeman, 98, of Summit, died Oct. 17, 2006, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Visitation continues at 3 p.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb until services there at 5 p.m. The Rev. Cory Morris will officiate. Sunset graveside services will follow in Johnston Chapel Cemetery in Summit.
Mrs. Freeman was born Oct. 28, 1907, in Franklin County to Albert and Athan Freeman.
She was a homemaker and attended Montgomery Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing, working in the yard and gardening. She was known as a great cook. Her family said, “She was a lady who loved to help everybody, and always, always loved her grandchildren. She was truly an ‘angel on earth.’”
Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hosea Pink Freeman; two sons, Homer T. Freeman and Nelson Freeman; three daughters, Virginia Worley, Delphine Freeman and Louree Freeman; brothers, Bill and Charlie Freeman; sisters, Mae and Ruth Freeman; two great-grandchildren, Stacey Morris and Brad Love; sons-in-law, Hewitt Sistrunk, Tommy Cox and Choyce Chunn; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Freeman.
Survivors include a special grandson, Mike McGuffee of Summit; three daughters, Kathleen Chunn, Louise Sistrunk and Nell Cox, all of Summit; a son-in-law, Arliss Worley of Phoenix; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Pat Freeman, James Thornton, Damon Edwards, Chris Thornton, Ted Woodall and Shane Woodall. Honorary pallbearers are Mike McGuffee, Wayne Cox and Greg Freeman.
