Walters Funeral Slated Today

Funeral services for Lloyd Leroy Walters, 69, of 2300 Whitney Dr., Monroe, were at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe with the Rev. Dr. Charles Holland and the Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Walters died Tuesday at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Walters was the owner of Walters Air Conditioning Co., was voice soloist for many yearss at the Presbyterian Church and was well-known for his musical contributions to the community through early radio programs and symphony appearances.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edythe McKeithen Walters; one daughter, Mrs. William (Lloydelle) Higgins of Monroe; and one grandson.

Pallbearers were Charles Albright, Dr. Henry Davis, Hank Wells, Dr. Ernest Hartman, Edward Thomas and Kenneth Hebert.
