*This birthdate is from a family tree created by Mary Elodia's late son, Sam BURNS. Her 1900 census record (Humboldt Co., CA) gives her birth month/year as NOV 1876. It agrees with her reported age of 3 years in the 1880 census (Cass Co. NE), enumerated on 21 JUN 1880. Her death certificate reports her age at death as 65 yr 9 mo 27 da, implying a birthdate of about 4 NOV 1877. Her tombstone gives only her birth year (1877).

**The 1900 census indicates that Mary Elodia had three infants who were all deceased. However, her 1910 census record indicates that she had no deceased children and that only her children with Wilfred James BURNS were living.
