Lois Elaine Gregory
January 26, 1929 - July 20, 2012

Mrs. Lois Elaine Gregory, 83 of Sulphur passed away on July 20, 2012 in a local hospital in Sulphur, LA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur with Dr. David Holder officiating. A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3p.m.in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 3-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lois was born in Bellwood, LA, the second daughter to Mack Leroy and Rosa Montgomery Gandy. She attended Bellwood and Provencal schools. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur where she served as yearbook chairperson for the Ruth Class continuing her love for reprographics. She was an educator having earned her BS at Northwestern State University and her M. Ed at McNeese State University. Her 43 years of teaching Business Education was spent mainly at her beloved Sulphur High School and in the Port Arthur School district. Lois was a charter member of CEA and held memberships in LEA, NEA, TRTA and AARP. At Sulphur High School, she organized the first FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) club and chaperoned groups to National conventions twelve times.

Lois is survived by her twin daughters, Melinda Sue Gregory of Sulphur and Melissa Ann Nabua of Hawaii; one grandson, Shaun Arthur Victory; 4 granddaughters, Danielle Gregory of Sulphur, Angela, Heidi, Dawn and Selena Nabua of Hawaii; four great grandsons, Tristan, Ben, Brayden and Kaze; and one sister, Dorothy Jean Dowden of Kisatchie, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Arthur Gregory; her parents, Mack Leroy and Rosa Montgomery Gandy; brother, George Leroy Gandy and sister, Orene Gandy Birdwell.
