Mrs. Lois Emmons
Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Gladys Emmons, 93, were held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 1993, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Forest. Rev. Leon Everett officiated. Interment was made in the Salem Cemetery, Lake.
Mrs. Emmons passed away on Monday, July 12, 1993, at S.E. Lackey Hospital, in Forest, following an extended illness. She was a native of Newton County and had lived in the Goodhope Community in Scott County most of her life. Mrs. Emmons was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and Past Worthy Matron of the Lake Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include four sons, Dewey B. Emmons, Destin, Fl., James A. Emmons, Santa Rosa, CA; Charles A. Emmons, Pearl; Billy Ray Emmons, Walnut Creek, CA, one daughter, Mrs. Sibyl Gordy, Forest; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harry Culpepper, James E. Johnston, Wilson Wooten, Eugene Wooten, Ed Jones, and Jimmy Dale Bryant.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of arrangements.
