Lola H. Toney

Lola H. Toney, 91, of the Oxford community near Gloster, died March 15, 2001, at her residence.

Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Gloster, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday until services there at 10 a.m. The Revs. Keith Zachary, Robert Toney and Kevin Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Gloster is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Toney was born Nov. 8, 1909, in Amite County. She was the daughter of Robert Marshall Jackson and Fannie Steele Jackson.

She was retired from the William Carter Co. in Centreville, and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Mrs. Toney was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. ``Jake'' Toney; one grandson, Charlie Jackson; four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, John Robert ``Bob'' Toney Jr. of Gloster and Quinn Toney of Liberty; two daughters, Mrs. William A. Case of Natchez and Eva Jackson of Gloster; six grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Jackson, Johnny Toney, Murry Toney, Marcell Tynes, Robert Johnson and Charles Dixon.
