L. (Smokey) Crum
Funeral services for Lonnie (Smokey) Crum, 60, of Wisner were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 17 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Interment was in Oakley Cemetery near Gilbert with the Rev. John Williams officiating.
A native of Wisner, he was born January 30, 1921. He was a disabled veteran of World War II, received the Purple Heart after wounds received Nov. 4, 1944 in the European Theater as a rifleman in the Army Combat Infantry. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church in Gilbert.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ava Gail Foy of Gonzales, Mrs. Cathy Crum and Mrs. Lonnie Sue Black, both of Baton Rouge; one son, Phillip Travis Crum of Gonzales; eight brothers, W. E. Crum, J. C. Crum, Ray Crum, Sula Crum, Tommy Crum, Earl Crum, Nolan Crum and Huey Crum, all of the Fort Necessity area; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Crum, Tommy Lynn Crum, Ricky Crum, Johnny Ray Crum, D. L. Crum and Clinton Crum.
