Lonnie Thompson Cotten
Funeral services for Lonnie T. Cotten will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers of Jena with the Rev. Randall Mark Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
Mr. Cotten, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a welder for Dresser Industries and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a resident of Dry Prong and a member of the Rockhill Non-Denomination Church of Dry Prong.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Cotten of Dry Prong; sons, Larry Cotten of Tioga and Joseph Cotten of Georgetown; daughters, Nelda Cortez of Houston, Texas and Marilyn Leonard of Tioga; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Desoto, Justin Leonard, Josha Leonard, Larry Cotten, Dewayne Chappell, and Mario Flores. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddy Cotten.
The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Hixson Brothers in Jena, Monday, April 23, 2007.
