Lora Jeanette (McCarty) Greene
(January 15, 1941 - May 2, 2009)

Lora Jeanette (McCarty) Greene, age 68, of Winnfield, La., passed away, Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La.

Mrs. Greene was a native of Sikes, Louisiana and a member of the East Winnfield Baptist Church. She was a nurse in Dr. Rodgers office for many years and then later Dr. LeBlanc's office.

Mrs. Greene is the daughter of the late William Cecil McCarty and the late Mottice (Creel) McCarty.

Survivors include her husband of fifty years: Rayford L. Greene; one son: Dr. Lyndon Greene of Jennings, Louisiana and a daughter Lorraine Greene Jones of Pineville, Louisiana; one brother: William Cecil McCarty, Jr. of Atlanta, Louisiana; three sisters: Vera Jean Robertson of Dodson, Betty Jo McCarty Roberts of Panama City, Florida, and Dianne McPhearson of Shreveport; five grandchildren: Seth Greene, Micah Verret, Matthew Verret, Merredith Verret, and Morgan Jones. Mrs. Greene is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the East Winnfield Baptist Church with Reverends Nick Verret and Bruce Cardin officiating. Interment will follow in the Cypress Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be: Roger McPhearson, Dale McCarty, Seth Greene, E. C. Greene, Royce Greene, Micah Verret, Matthew Verret, and Donny Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Caleb Hemphill, Butch Hemphill, and Wayne Skains.
