Lora Griffin
Services for Mrs. Lora Peters Griffin, 94 of Wisner, LA will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday Nov. 30th at Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be Sunday from noon to service time with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner.
Mrs. Griffin, a homemaker and retired librarian was born Nov. 15, 1914 in Martinsville, MS to Thomas Milton Martin and Ruth Berry Martin with whom she traveled to Wisner and resided for 88 years and was charter member of First Baptist Church of Wisner.
Mrs. Griffin died peacefully Nov. 28th at Landmark Nursing Facility in West Monroe after a brief illness with family at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas M. Martin and Ruth B. Martin; husbands: Captain James M. Peters and Louis M. Griffin; brother: Hugh Martin; sister: Laura Martin Moore.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by sons: James M. Peters and wife Ann of West Monroe; Louis M. Griffin of Wisner; grandchildren: Krista Peters Brown Elayan and husband Jamil of Athens, GA; Eric Todd Peters of Athens, GA; Kimberly Ann Peters of West Monroe; Jason Griffin, Melissa Griffin, and Christopher Griffin; great-grandchildren: Lauren Kaitlyn, Amanda Brown, and Garnett Elayan; nephew: Gene Moore
Pallbearers will be Ted Grace, Aaron Scott, Reggie Peters, Gary Peters, Robert Peters, and Ronald Beach.
Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Peters.
