Lorraine King Johnson
Born in Boise City, Okla. on May 5, 1921 to Robert and Bonnie Earl King, Lorraine King Johnson died on Friday, April 1, 2011.
She married Arthur McWeston Johnson in October of 1938. They moved to Lamesa in 1946.
She is survived by her children, Arthur R. Johnson of Durango, Colo., Donna and husband, Wesley Teague, of Lamesa, and Nedra and husband, Benson McCulloch, of Lamesa; her grandchildren, Darla Dodson and husband, Bruce, of Mountain Home, Idaho, Pamela St. John of Napa, Calif., Greg and wife, Priscilla Teague, of Lamesa, Krenna and husband, Cary Thetford, of Arlington, Tory and husband, Greg Doerty of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Chris and wife, Celeste McCulloch, of Lamesa; nine great-grandchildren; and 13 step-grandchildren.
She was a member of First Baptist Church for 25 years.
Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family, watching her favorite soap opera (Days of Our Lives) on TV, and playing card games with her friends. In earlier years she and Art loved to travel and visited most of the states in the U.S. He passed away in 1997.
She dearly loved her job at Dal Paso Museum as the coordinator. She loved everyone she met and saw good in everyone.
Her children and grandchildren cherish their memories of her and the times they spent with her. She was their “Nonie.”
She always had a smile on her face and put one on others.
She was a Blessing to all her family, and will be missed by all.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
