Mrs. Louie Johnson

Mrs. Louie Lee Johnson of Smithfield died Saturday in Erwin Hospital following a long illness.

She was 85 years of age.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Grove Church with the Rev. James E. Howard officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Johnston County. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lee.

She was a member of St. Mary's Grove Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Byrd of Benson; four sons, Thel D. Johnson of Benson, W. M. Johnson of Four Oaks, Garland Johnson of Garner, and Joseph Johnson of Clayton; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Austin of Four Oaks, Mrs. Josia Leneves of Raleigh, and Mrs. Lena Barbour of Smithfield; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
