Louis Barnes Whittington, 73, of 2612 Emerald Drive died Saturday at Hinds General Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. today at Stringer's Funeral Home chapel in Crystal Springs with burial at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery near Crystal Springs.
He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vivian Whittington of Jackson; sons, Clarence Whittington and Bruce Whittington, both of Jackson; daughters, Mrs. Louise Harris of Burns, Mrs. Patsy Phelps of Jackson, Mrs. Charlotte Greer of Memphis and Mrs. Margaret Dairyberry of Brookhaven; brothers, Elvin Whittington and David Whittington, both of Jackson; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bush and Mrs. Jewell Matthews, both of Crystal Springs, Mrs. Carolyn Perkins of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Catherine Phillips of Washington state; and 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
