L. J. Prince Funeral Set
Funeral services for Louis John Prince, 55, of 2645 Seventh street, a 52-year resident of Port Arthur, will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral home chapel.
Mr. Prince was pronounced dead on arrival Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at St. Mary's hospital where he was taken by Knowles ambulance after he was found ill at his home. He had been released Wednesday from the U.S. Public Health Service hospital in Galveston for the Thanksgiving holidays. Justice of the Peace James B. Creed, after conducting an inquest, ruled Mr. Prince died of natural causes.
The Rev. H. A. Schoenrock, pastor of the Park Place Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial park.
A native of Avery Island, La., Mr. Prince was employed as a cook by the Sabine Towing company and had worked for them for 15 years. He was a member of the Seafarers International Union and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bernice Prince; two daughters, Becky and Jody Prince, all of Port Arthur; two sons, Jerry Prince of Port Arthur and Donald Prince of California; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Goulas and Mrs. Grover Mann, both of Port Arthur; and four brothers, Theo, Alvin, Sidney and Vivian Prince, all of Port Arthur.
Pallbearers will be Ralph, Richard and Royce Prince, Glynn and Kenneth Mann and Dale Goulas.
