Youth Is Killed In Texas Crash; Services Today

GRAND PRAIRIE, Tex. -- A 16-year-old Grand Prairie youth, formerly of Oak Grove, was killed here Saturday in a head-on collision, according to Dallas County Sheriff's officials.

Louis Ray Davis, son of James E. Davis, formerly of Oak Grove, died instantly when the motorcycle he was driving collided head-on with a vehicle on U.S. 80 near here.

Sheriff's officials said Davis was in the westbound lane when an automobile going east in the westbound lane collided head-on with Davis.

Funeral services were to be today at 10 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Oak Grove with the Rev. C. T. Smith officiating.

Burial was to be in Oak Grove Cemetery under direction of Kidder-Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Survivors other than his father include, four brothers, James E. Davis Jr., William Edward Davis, Earl Davis, all of Grand Prairie, Tex., and Bobby Davis of U.S. Army; five sisters, Mrs. Udin Martinez, Miss Beck Davis, Miss Elaine Davis, all of Grand Prairie, Mrs. Wanda Strickland of Darnell, Ark. and Mrs. Betty Safley of Seattle, Wash.

Pallbearer were to be Troy Cotton, Larry Cotton, Eugene Cotton, Billy Wright, Clyde Wright Jr. and Jerry Day.
