NEWTON -- Services for Louise Emmons Overstreet will be held today at 11 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. S. Guy Odom and Johnny Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Overstreet, 88, of Newton, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Bedford Care Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Crain and her husband, Don, of Bogalusa, La.; sons, Donald Overstreet and his wife, Flora, of Hickory, Raymond Overstreet and his wife, Jane, of Decatur; grandchildren, Gary Crain of Hackley, La., Mike Crain, of Angie, La., Sandra Walker of Hickory, Penny Vance and Melissa Spears both of Decatur, and Wayne Overstreet, of Cumming, Ga.; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine `Sarah' Herd of Union, Mary Ann Davis of Bogalusa and a brother, Edward Emmons of Bogalusa and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Madison Overstreet; parents, Isom and Myrtle Emmons; brothers, Carl Emmons, Lee Merle Emmons; sisters, Ila Mae Mizell, Lucille Varnado, Ora Lee Overstreet and Dorothy Emmons.
Pallbearers will be Gary Crain, Mike Crain, Wayne Overstreet, Johnny Walker and Johnny Knochenmuss.
