Louise McKinney
Services for Louise McKinney, 84, of Tyler (formerly of Burke), will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jerry Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. McKinney was born August 21, 1928 in Burke, Texas, the daughter of the late Gladys M. (Austin) and Iza D. Fuller. She passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Tyler.
Mrs. McKinney was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Burke Baptist Church and the Diboll Garden Club, where she served as president many times. She enjoyed her clothing and was always dressed in her pretty jackets. Mrs. McKinney loved to cook, especially for her family. When the grandchildren were coming, she always made sure she had their favorite snacks. Along with her pretty flowers, she enjoyed the hummingbirds that came to visit.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Dewayne Norris of Tyler; grandchildren, Rodney and Tiffany Norris of Tyler and Christy and Michael Kennedy of Bullard; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Taylor Norris of Tyler, Addison Kennedy of Bullard, Amanda Kennedy of Dallas and Aaron and Austin Kennedy of Bullard; sister-in-law, Ruth Tidwell of Burke; and nephew, Leon Tidwell of Burke.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband, Tom ‘Benjie’ McKinney; and sister, Pauline Ryan.
Pallbearers will be Joe Bob Thigpen, Arthur Beeler, Raymond Lenderman, Ray Lenderman, Mark Hines, and Charles Mann.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at Gipson Funeral Home.
