Louise Lavender Hammack
March 17, 1911 - February 25, 2004

COLUMBUS, GA - Louise Lavender Hammack, 92, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Wynnton United Methodist Church with Dr. Glenn Martin officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hammack was born in Columbus on March 17, 1911, daughter of the late Joel W. Lavender and Dovie Goins Lavender. She has lived in Columbus all her life and was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church where she retired as Church Hostess.

Her husband, Joseph H. Hammack, and her four sisters, Mildred Grimes, Rachel Rozelle, Elizabeth Moon and Madeline Flanagan and her brother, Joe Lavender, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, William J. ``Bill'' Hammack and his wife Judy of Fortson, Robert Lavender Hammack of Columbus and Robert Lee Rozelle and his wife Penny of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Helen Louise Rugg of Columbus; a brother, Lowery V. Martin of Birmingham, Ala.; a beloved niece, Betty Woodruff of Columbus; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
